Kelowna's 100 Heroes helps raise funds to help local charities

Heroes helping charity

100 Heroes Who Give A Damn are back in action this week, supporting local charities at Erica Jane in Kelowna Thursday starting at 5 p.m.

This is the 19th time for the event, which has raised over $300,000 for local charities and non-profits.

The event is set up like a game show, where attendees will hear a five-minute pitch from three local initiatives and then vote to see who gets the evening's donation.

Members pledge $100 to the chosen cause.

Anyone can become a member of 100 Heroes Who Give A Damn by attending two events a year and commit to donating $100 each time.

This year’s participating charities are the Elizabeth Fry Society, The Bridge Youth and Family Service, and Inspire Health Supportive Cancer Care.

Past beneficiaries include Connect Counselling & Therapy Society, The Child Advocacy Centre, Karis Support Society, and the KGH Foundation.
