It's been 18 years since Aaron Derbyshire vanished from in front of Level nightclub in downtown Kelowna and questions about where he went, who he was with and why he never went home continue to plague his parents.
"I never would have imagined that we would be here 18 years later still without answers," Glenda Derbyshire said in a videotaped statement distributed to the media through the RCMP.
"Aaron is our second born of four boys, and today he would be uncle to four nieces and one nephew. We miss Aaron every day and missing him like this has impacted our lives in so many ways."
Glenda said she and her husband Gordon believe that there are people around Kelowna who know the truth about what happened to their son and they made a plea for them to come forward.
He was last seen the night of Sept. 29, 2006 in the 200-block of Leon Avenue leaving a nightclub. He was reported missing on October 3, 2006 when he didn’t show up for a family outing.
At the time of his disappearance Aaron was 22, five-foot-10, 160 pounds, had brown hair and blue eyes.
Anyone with information about Aaron’s disappearance and the night he went missing, is asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP Serious Crime Unit at 250-762-3300 and reference file number 2006-53986.
