Cristalina Parc opens new independent living space for seniors

Cristalina Parc is now open

A grand opening was held in Kelowna on Friday afternoon for Cristalina Parc, an independent living space for seniors in retirement.

A ribbon cutting and a number of speeches took place before guests were given a tour of the nine-storey building.

“I was greeted by a resident when I walked in today and just stating how well they are treated at this residence and what a difference it has made in their life,” said Kelowna Mayor Tom Dyas.

“What it’s meant to them and also how they’re treated here, I believe, is just a testament to this company just with what this company wants to achieve. They’re basically treating individuals as independent living by giving them dignity and also lots of activity to enjoy life.”

The 133-unit residence comes with one and two-bedroom apartment options, a fitness centre, a vineyard spa, a sky garden, a wine room, a games room and even a restaurant.

Following the ribbon cutting in front of the building, guests were welcomed on the third floor and were introduced to the the Cherry Bar and Lounge, as well as the Orchard Dining Room.

“They have wonderful apartments and can be totally independent, but if they choose to come down to the dining room, we have a nice menu prepared by our chefs. Everything is prepared here on site. They can do fitness, they can have rich afternoons, they can have outings, there’s a lot of opportunities they can choose,” said Parc Retirement Living Founder Rainer Mueller.

Located at the intersection of KLO and Lakeshore Rd., this retirement residence is in the heart of Kelowna and puts seniors within walking distance of nearly everything a person needs.

“That is our business model," said Mueller.

"Parc Retirement residences are always in locations like this because these people want to be active, they want to go out, they want to go to the store. That is wonderful for them to be active and to be a part of the community, so that is the location we chose.”

With no nursing on site, Cristalina Parc is not a care facility, but rather an independent living space for seniors.

They are now accepting new residents and can be contacted through their website.
