Kelowna businesses provide two of Canada's best beverage, food tours

Tourism ventures earn kudos

A pair of Kelowna tourism businesses have received honours from a major travel website.

Lakeside Eco-Sports and A Taste of Kelowna Food Tours both won 2024 Viator Experience Awards. Viator is part of the Tripadvisor network and helps customers find and book tours, activities and excursions around the world. Viator Experience Awards, which started in 2022, is based on average review ratings, share of bookings with a review and number of bookings on its platform over a 12-month period.

The two Kelowna recipients were recognized among Canada’s best in beverage and food tours.

A Taste of Kelowna Food Tours opened in May 2021 and offers an engaging walking tour that delivers unique insight into the food scene in downtown Kelowna.

“I am honoured to win this award,” A Taste of Kelowna Food Tours founder Andrew Deans said in a press release. “I have such a fun time with all my customers, and the reviews they leave me are humbling. I dedicate this award to them.”

Lakeside Eco-Sports was founded in 2022 and offers a host of tours and activities, including the award-winning E-Bike Wine Tour and E-Bike & Gold Panning Expedition.

“We are honoured to receive this prestigious award for recognition of the quality of our E-Bike Wine Tour with tastings and lunch,” said Lakeside Eco-Sports co-founder Gareth Brown, who owns the company with his wife, Pamela Castillo. “Our staff and partners share this moment with us.”
