Proposal for townhouse development on Holland Road

Townhouses on Holland Rd

A series of townhouses could be developed along Holland Road off KLO Road if an application before Kelowna's planning department is approved.

The application for five townhouses at 3010 Holland Road seeks to have the property rezoned and issuance of a development permit.

According to the rational provided by the developer the five-unit development would include units accessible at ground level.

"To ensure minimal impact to the surrounding homes, each unit will have their own attached garage plus two off-street parking spaces," the development rationale stated.

"The central location of the property influenced an overall design that includes the provision of additional non-required bicycle parking."

The application states a belief most residents will walk or use bicycles given the location of the development.

Each unit would also include rooftop patios.

"The reduction in automobile reliance in conjunction with the infill development contributes to a more sustainable approach to the building design that aligns with the City of Kelowna's Healthy City Strategy and panning initiatives."
