Car crashes while street racing along Dougall Road

A resident of Dougall Road South is speaking out after a car that was street racing crashed outside his home.

Robert, who didn’t want his last name used, caught the crash on video at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

In the video, the vehicle appears to spin out and hit a pickup truck parked along the road.

Robert went out to see if everyone was okay. The driver and two young women in the car weren’t hurt in the crash. He says they got lucky.

He adds that the driver was a young man in a friend’s car and was apparently “showing off” for his girlfriend.

He says that stretch of Dougall Road South is a very busy road with lots of people out walking their dogs and riding bikes. He points out that the home that the vehicle nearly hit houses a daycare.

Robert notes that stunting and racing happens often outside his home. He’s “sick and tired” of the speeders on his street.
