Parade With a Purpose aims to raise $50,000 for the Youth Recovery House Campaign

Parade with a Purpose

There will be a Santa Claus Parade in Kettle Valley Saturday.

This parade is about more than ringing in the festive season, though.

Founded by Kettle Valley Pub on Main owner Pam Turgeon, the event was started in an effort to bring some holiday cheer to the community, and help youth in need.

Last year, the parade raised $14,000 for The Bridge Youth and Family Services youth recovery house Campaign. This year, they’re hoping to bring in $50,000.

The campaign is already 84% of the way to its goal, with $41,834 raised through sponsors and donors.

Tap or cash donations will be collected during the parade and the Village of Kettle Valley will be matching all donations that night up to $5,000.

The parade kicks off Saturday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. There will be more than 20 floats this year and people are encouraged to get there early to choose a prime viewing spot.

Parking will be available near Quilchena Park for a donation of $5.

You can make a donation to the fundraising campaign here. More details, including the parade route, are available through the Parade With A Purpose Facebook event page.
