A temperature record was set in Kelowna Monday

Another record for Kelowna

Another temperature record has been set in Kelowna.

Monday reached a high of 25.4 C, breaking the old temperature record of 25 C set in 1932.

Records in Kelowna have been kept since 1899.

On Monday, Castanet reported both Kelowna and Vernon had broken records on Sunday.

"It is a very unusual weather pattern for the beginning of October to be setting these temperature records in the mid-'20s," said meteorologist Alyssa Charbonneau.

The summer-like temperatures will continue all week in Kelowna hovering around 20 C and above.

"We are still expecting things to be warm and dry right through the weekend. You will see some days are a little bit cooler. We are getting cold on some mornings and so that will make a few days a little bit colder. Wednesday, we are forecasting a high of 20 C, but that is still well above normal for this time of year which would be a high of 15 degrees," Charbonneau added.

Other records set on Monday include:

  • Abbotsford
  • Cache Creek
  • Hope
  • Lytton Area
  • Nakusp
  • Pitt Meadows
  • Puntzi Mountain
  • Squamish
  • Tatlayoko Lake
