Kelowna Kinsmen cornhole tournament fundraiser takes place Saturday

Cornhole fundraiser returns

The Kinsmen Club of Kelowna is bringing back its annual cornhole tournament fundraiser, after two years off during the pandemic.

The event Sept. 24 in Kinsmen Park features tournaments for both singles and doubles teams ranging over all skill levels including both competitive and recreational leagues.

A beverage garden, food trucks, skill “hot shot” contests, and twenty plus lanes of cornhole for practice and competition is also included.

A singles tournament will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. while a doubles tournament runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The main 100-player “switch” tournament runs throughout the day in between from 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., where players register and are paired up at random throughout the day, until the final playoffs.

Regardless of which division, every player is guaranteed four round robin games and a minimum of one playoff game.

Singles and doubles registration is $20 per player and the main “switch” tournament is $50 per player. Singles and doubles tournaments are capped at 30 teams and the main event is capped at 100 players.

To reserve your spot, players must download the “Scoreholio App”, register an account, and search “upcoming tournaments”: “Kelowna Kinsmen Tournament” to purchase a ticket. Walk-on cash registrations at the event are permitted if space remains.

All funds raised go to supporting the local service club and in their main mission of raising funds for the battle against cystic fibrosis. More information can be found here.
