Emergency crews respond to incident involving cyclist on Harvey Ave.

UPDATE 10:08 a.m.

An eyewitness tells Castanet he was on the scene when a woman in her early 20's collapsed while crossing the street at the intersection of Harvey Ave. and Cooper Rd. Wednesday morning.

Goerzen tells Castanet the woman was walking across the street with her fiance when she had some sort of medical incident and she was gently lowered to the ground and we helped carry her gently to the curb because laying in the street wasn't safe.

Goerzen says emergency crews arrived quickly and treated the woman on the scene.

Traffic was not seriously impacted and there are no delays on Harvey Ave. as a result of the medical incident.

Emergency crews are on the scene of an incident involving a cyclist near the intersection of Harvey Avenue and Cooper Road.

A photograph taken from the scene shows a cyclist being assisted by a passerby. Bystanders managed to move the woman to safety and emergency crews are now on scene providing assistance.

Traffic on Harvey Ave. has not been seriously impacted by this incident.
