ORIGINAL 11:18 a.m.

Emergency crews rallied at the yacht club in downtown Kelowna Wednesday morning.

Reports indicate an elderly man was swimming near Paul’s Tomb trail, near the base of Knox Mountain, when they suffered a medical issue.

Rescue crews were alerted and arrived on scene to begin resuscitation, including chest compressions.

At this point it is unclear if this is a result of a medical emergency or a drowning.

Castanet has a reporter on the scene who says the patient is being brought to the boat launch by rescue crews and is being transported from there to Kelowna General Hospital.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
