The Maple Leaf will fly after all at Kelowna City Hall this Canada Day.
Following news Thursday that the Canadian flag wouldn't be on display due to a problem with the flag-raising mechanism, the City of Kelowna now says repairs have been made and the flag is proudly flying to celebrate the nation's birthday.
"Temporary repairs have been made to the flag pole at City Hall, meaning the Canadian flag will be on display this weekend," the city said in a brief statement this morning.
"The flag has been temporarily restored to the top of the mast. Further repair work on the pole will continue next week."
News that the flag wouldn't be on display for Canada Day was met with dismay and disappointment by many in the community on Thursday.
