Downtown Kelowna store getting ready to open 10,000 square-foot second floor

Lakehouse on the way up

A downtown Kelowna home decor store and kitchenware store is expanding upwards.

Lakehouse Home Store will be holding a grand opening for its second floor next weekend, on Saturday, June 11, at 9:30 a.m.

The store, which is located at the corner of Ellis and Bernard, has spent the last year renovating more than 10,000 square feet of space to install more retail space and two state-of-the-art kitchens.

“Expanding our original location has been a great way to celebrate ten years in business,” co-owner Ben Boschman said in a press release. “We are excited to be able to offer our customers more of the brands they love, from Breville to Le Creuset, as well as launch cooking classes this fall.”

Lakehouse will be adding a “well-known and established” Okanagan chef to lead the culinary program.

The second floor will officially open at 10 a.m. next Saturday, half an hour after the grand opening ceremony, and the first 40 purchasers on both Saturday and Sunday will receive a gift.
