COVID outbreak within Kelowna hospital's vascular and general surgery unit

Interior Health has confirmed a COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at Kelowna General Hospital.

IH says the outbreak was reported on May 13 on the 3E unit — a vascular and general surgery unit.

"There are currently 22 cases: 11 patients and 11 staff," IH said in an email to Castanet.

There are multiple other active outbreaks in the BC Interior in care homes in Kelowna, Kamloops, Vernon, Penticton and Williams Lake.
