Wrestling legend Tommy Dreamer is heading to Kelowna to main event Thrash Wrestling later this month.
The former Extreme Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment star has racked up quite the list of accomplishments over his 30+ year career. He's now on the independent wrestling circuit, including a stop off in Kelowna where Thrash Wrestling owner Nick Szalanski says he’s excited for his arrival.
“Tommy Dreamer is the innovator of violence. He has a history with the WWE and ECW. He’s been all over with his company House of Hardcore Wrestling. He’s coming to Thrash Wrestling to take on the biggest young prospect in Adam Ryder,” said Szalanski.
This isn’t the first time Dreamer has found himself coming into a fight with the upper hand of experience, but he’ll be up against what Szalanski describes as the best up and coming wrestling prospect in Western Canada, and people should get their popcorn ready.
“People can expect a very well rounded wrestling show. There will be a lot of different aspects that we will bring to the table. Maybe some extreme wrestling, some comedy, some technical wrestling, some high flying – a good variety of everything that makes pro wrestling solid and interesting,” explained Szalanski.
Knowing Dreamer’s past, Szalanski wouldn’t be surprised if things got a little violent, mentioning the use of steel chairs.
Thrash Wrestling operates primarily in the Okanagan including Kelowna, Kamloops, Penticton, Vernon, other small cities. Tickets to the event can be purchased for $25 at Player’s Choice Cards and Collectibles.
The Thrash Wrestling event takes place at 7 p.m. on May 20 at Rutland’s Centennial Hall.
