Shakey Graves returns to Kelowna for a show at BNA May 3

Shakey Graves plays in May

Live music is coming back in the Okanagan in a big way, and now Shakey Graves is playing at BNA Brewing next month.

Following the success of AltiTunes at Big White last weekend and the recent lineup announcement for this summer's Denim on the Diamond festival, Thick as Thieves Entertainment is announcing their latest show at BNA Brewing.

Shakey Graves will take to the stage at the brewery on Tuesday May 3, with Juno nominee Begonia opening the show. Tickets can be found here.

“Shakey Graves brings a fusion of blues, folk, and rock in a stripped-down one-man-band style,” Thick as Thieves writes.

“He sells out venues - so get yours now to join this intimate show for which we will celebrate the return of live music to BNA.”

Shakey Graves, born Alejandro Rose-Garcia and hailing from Austin, Texas, last came to Kelowna in 2019, when he played at the Kelowna Community Theatre.

“Tickets to Shakey Graves' 2019 show at the Kelowna Community Theatre sold out in one day. Given the KCT has more than double the capacity of BNA Brewing you're not going to want to wait too long before getting your tickets,” said Mitch Carefoot.

Carefoot and Kurt Jory founded Thick as Thieves Entertainment in late 2017, and the pair hosted their first Denim on the Diamond festival in downtown Kelowna the following summer. This week, the pair announced they're expanding Denim from a one-day event to two days over Sept. 2 and 3.

Carefoot says they've partnered with BNA to bring more live music to the city. They're also hosting Yukon Blonde at BNA's tasting room on May 10. The Vancouver-based rock band originally hails from Kelowna.

Kelowna has seen a number of its live music venues disappear in recent years, including Fernando's Pub, Sapphire and The Habitat.
