Chamber Music Kelowna returns for the second phase of their 2021/2022 season

Chamber music returns

The Chamber Music Kelowna Society is returning for the second phase of their 2021/2022 concert season with three upcoming performances by renowned Canadian and international artists.

Full capacity will be allowed at the 320-seat Mary Irwin Theatre at the Rotary Centre for the Arts in Downtown Kelowna, since the Provincial Health Officer lifted capacity restraints.

A limited number of single tickets are now on sale through the RCA Box Office for each of the three performances that will round out CMK’s 42nd season.

Croatia-native, Ana Vidovic, who’s been playing guitar since she was 5-years old, will be performing in Kelowna on March 11.

At the age of 11, she was performing internationally and by the age of 13, she became the youngest student to attend the prestigious National Musical Academy in Zagreb.

The March 11 concert will also feature a Pre-Concert Chat at 6:45 p.m. by classical guitarist Alan Reinhart in the RCA’s Salloum Room, along with a Post-Concert Q&A session with Ana Vidovic.

The Viano String Quartet, co-laureates of the 2019 Banff International String Quartet Competition (BISQC), performs at the RCA on April 29.

Marina Thibeault (viola) and Corey Hamm (piano) will conclude the 2021/22 season with their performance on May 27.

Thibeault achieved national prominence as Radio-Canada’s “Revelation” for 2016-17, and since then has delighted audiences across Canada, the United States, and Europe.

Hamm has premiered over 400 solo, chamber, and concerto works, and his innovative chamber music initiatives have received great praise.

This concert was rescheduled from Feb. 4, due to PHO orders. CMK reminds patrons holding tickets for the February performance to present their existing tickets on May 27.

Tickets can be purchased online, at the RCA Box Office or by calling 250-717-5304.

All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and ticket-holders are asked to arrive 15 minutes early to allow for verification of the vaccine passport, which is mandatory.
