Economic commission adds six notable names to advisory council

New voices join COEDC

Central Okanagan Economic Development Commission is bringing in six new members to its 2022 advisory council.

Chairman Mike Checkley will lead the 45-person delegation, which will serve as a conduit of information and insight for the COEDC. It consists of industry leaders, elected officials, local government staff and community organizations representing a cross section of industries.

The new members are GreenStep Solutions president and CEO Angela Nagy, Avalon Event Rentals Group owner Brad Buchanan, Mission Group real estate director Jeremy Dawn, KGH Physicians Society president Dr. Maurice Blitz, Troika Management Corp president Rich Threlfall and Stewart Family Estates CEO Tony Stewart.

“As the fastest growing metropolitan area in Canada, we’re immensely grateful for the wisdom and expertise that the advisory council members contribute to the long-term economic sustainability of the region,” COEDC manager Krista Mallory said in a press release.

“As we move into 2022, I’m certain that the incoming advisory council members will add new perspective and insight as we navigate this growth.”
