Local singer Scotty Berg is releasing a new song just in time for Valentines Day.

The 14-year-old Grade 9 student who attends KLO Middle School says the music video was shot in Kelowna and was co-written in Nashville with people who have worked with Jennifer Lopez and Luke Bryan.

"The song is called You Don't Have to be Alone. It is kind of just a song about anti-bullying, suicide prevention, and it is about just if you are struggling and you have a friend, go talk to a friend and go talk to your family. There is always someone you can lean on."

Berg says the music video was shot in his Kelowna home, along Bernard Avenue and Priest Creek Family Estate Winery.

The singer-songwriter was born in Edmonton and moved to Kelowna with his family when he was two years old. The teenager continues to gain popularity online and currently has 45,000 followers on Tiktok.

Berg says the song will be available everywhere come February 14.

"It will be on everything. Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes."
