Interior Health expanding booster dose vaccine clinics, reopening Trinity Church location in Kelowna

Trinity vax clinic reopens

The vaccine clinic at Trinity Church is reopening.

Interior Health announced it is expanding COVID-19 immunization capacity throughout the region by opening larger clinics in Kelowna, Nelson, Castlegar, Trail, Cranbrook and Williams Lake.

The Trinity Church Location is set to start giving booster shots on Monday, January 17.

Hours are also being extended in the listed communities, and pharmacies are adding more appointments.

“Interior Health is grateful to our community partners who are once again stepping up to provide clinic space,” said Susan Brown, president and CEO of Interior Health. “With pharmacies also offering appointments, people across our region have more options to book their booster appointments as soon as they are able.”

If you are 18 and older, you still have to wait to receive an invitation to book an appointment for a booster dose, approximately six months after the date of your second dose.

Pregnant people 18+ can get a booster dose eight weeks after their second dose. To book an appointment, they can call the call centre at 1-833-838-2323 and self-identify as pregnant. COVID-19 vaccines are safe to receive at any point in pregnancy.

People who still need their first or second dose can drop in or also make an appointment.

Vaccine appointments for children aged 5-11 must be booked in advance, after you register your child.

The hours of operation at the Trinity Church location will be 8:30 a.m-3:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday, with late hours of 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday. On Sundays, it will be open 1:00-5:00 p.m.
