No changes to curbside collection over holidays

No changes to trash removal

The Regional District of Central Okanagan has announced no changes will be made to curbside collection over the holidays, as this year's statutory holidays fall on the weekend.

All garbage, recycling and yard waste will be collected on its usual day, with yard waste collection wrapping up on December 31.

Residents are also reminded to put all wrapping paper (excluding foil wrap), flattened boxes and cartons into your recycling cart for curbside pick-up, or take it to your nearest recycling depot.

Due to the flooding and road closures throughout B.C., collection of glass containers and Styrofoam packaging continues to be temporarily suspended at all local depots, so residents are being advised to store those items at home for the time being. Styrofoam, glass or plastic bags will not be accepted in curbside bins.

Several other items such as ribbons or bows, foil gift wrap, padded envelopes, toys, lights and batteries are also prohibited from the recycling bins.
