Vehicle fire on Kelowna's Loseth Drive threatened home

Kelowna firefighters were able to douse a vehicle fire before it was able to spread to a nearby home.

Fire crews were called to the 1200 block of Loseth Drive about 5 p.m. Monday afternoon for reports of a vehicle in a driveway on fire.

Initial reports indicated the vehicle was in close proximity to a house.

"The first arriving officer reported a fully involved vehicle fire and no exposure issues," said platoon captain John Kelly.

"The fire was quickly extinguished by the first arriving crew. The cause of the fire is not deemed suspicious and most likely a mechanical/electrical failure."
