Kelowna security video captures collision on camera

T-bone collision on video

Rob Gibson

A Kelowna man has shared surveillance video of a collision at Gordon Drive and Cameron Avenue on Friday afternoon.

The video shows a grey four-door sedan turning left off Gordon Drive onto Cameron Avenue at approximately 2 p.m. Friday, when a dark-coloured sedan crashes into the side of the vehicle.

Samer Shehadeh tells Castanet he received a phone call from his children's school bus driver letting him know that he couldn't drop his children off in front of the home because a crash was blocking Cameron Ave.

Shehadeh wasn't home at the time of the collision, but after making sure his children were all right, he checked his surveillance video and found he had captured the exact moment the collision occurred.

"When I arrived home I was able to see it. My biggest concern was what if somebody was crossing the street, that could have been tragic," Shehadeh says.

Shehadeh says two ambulances attended the scene of the collision and one person was transported to hospital.

The extent of injuries is not known at this time.
