Greenhouse lost in fire

A greenhouse was extensively damaged in a structure fire in Kelowna Sunday night.

About 8:35 p.m., Kelowna Fire Department dispatch centre received a 911 call reporting fire at a home on the 3600 block of Bemrose Road.

Arriving crews confirmed a small fire on the exterior of the house.

The fire was quickly extinguished and damage kept to the one corner of the home, but an attached greenhouse was badly damaged, says Platoon Capt. Steve Roshinsky.

KFD responded with four engines, a rescue truck, tender and a command vehicle. RCMP and Fortis Electric also responded to the scene.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
