Dozens from the community scaled-down the Landmark Six building in Kelowna all in support of Easter Seals.

The event is taking place from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Tuesday only.

Funds raised help to send children and adults with disabilities to Easter Seals Camp Winfield located in Lake Country.

"It is the first-ever Kelowna drop zone. It is one of four here in B.C. We ask participants to raise $850 to do so," said Easter Seals community engagement manager Michelle Webber.

"This event helps us keep the camps going and contribute to these families otherwise our camps cost upwards of $3,000 for one child per week because of that one-on-one intense care that these people require," she added.

A total of 50 people have registered to scale down the building.

“Our Easter Seals Camp Winfield location has been in Lake Country for over 50 years,” adds Beck. “It’s a nature-based, fully accessible overnight camp for children, youth and adults to age 49 with disabilities. Campers explore and develop their abilities in a safe and supportive environment, and of course, have a lot of fun," said Lisa Beck, President and CEO of Easter Seals BC/Yukon.
