Lakeshore Bridge over Bellevue Creek temporarily one-way traffic only

Lakeshore, one way only

Construction on the Lakeshore Bridge over Bellevue Creek is set to begin Monday, July 26, and will impact bridge traffic for at least three days, until Wednesday, July 28.

Traffic will be reduced to one-way traffic only, northbound vehicle traffic will be permitted on Lakeshore Road between Collett Road and Keith Road to allow crews to complete concrete pouring of the bridge deck. Southbound traffic will be detoured at McClure Road or Dehart Road.

Commercial trucking will continue to use the detour in place, pedestrian access will be maintained using the existing pedestrian bridge, while cyclists are encouraged to use alternative routes.

Construction on this $2.7-million project began in March and is expected to be complete in September. These improvements will extend the life of the existing bridge, enhance safety and connect the multi-use path from the north side of the bridge to Collett Road. Once complete, two lanes of vehicle traffic, bike lanes in each direction and a multi-use path will allow for smoother traffic flow.
