A Kelowna man returning from a road trip captured a peculiar sight on Highway 97 recently.
Jonathon Van tells Castanet he saw a white two-door Mercedes-Benz convertible with a kayak jammed into the passenger area. The vehicle, which contained both a driver and passenger, was travelling south on Highway 97 near John Hindle Drive.
Van says the vehicle was travelling in the left passing lane about 20 km/h below the speed limit for some distance, "he wouldn't move, people were honking." The car had BC plates.
The photo he captured shows an orange kayak wedged into the passenger compartment of the vehicle on top of a passenger.
"Get a load of this guy, he's got a kayak in there (and) the passenger looks like they are in distress," Van said.
