IH announces urban mobile drop-in vaccine clinics for Kelowna and Interior

Drop-in clinics coming

Interior Health has announced they are now launching an urban mobile immunization clinic to offer easy access, same-day immunizations for people to get their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

“We’ve had great success with our mobile immunization clinics targeting our rural and remote communities and we are now using that experience to launch mobile clinics for urban neighbourhoods,” said Interior Health president and CEO Susan Brown. “This is another way to make sure vaccine is easily accessible to provide everyone an opportunity to get vaccinated.”

The urban mobile immunization clinics start next week by targeting neighbourhoods in Kelowna, West Kelowna, Kamloops, Vernon, Penticton, and Salmon Arm. The clinics will be providing first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to people who are born in 2009 or earlier, no appointment necessary.

The first clinic will start in Kelowna at Kelowna Secondary School, 1079 Raymer Ave., Tuesday, June 22 to Thursday, June 24 from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The rest of the dates and times are to-be-determined of Friday, but a full list can be found here.

Interior Health is reminding everyone that you still need to book an appointment to get your second dose, "if you registered with the Get Vaccinated provincial registration system for your first dose, you will be notified to book an appointment for your second dose approximately 8 weeks from the date you received your first dose," states a news release from IH.

If you received your first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine before the provincial registration system was available (April 6), register for your second dose here.
