Latest COVID-19 outbreak at Kelowna's hospital now over

KGH outbreak declared over

Interior Health has announced the end of a COVID-19 outbreak at Kelowna General Hospital.

As a result of the outbreak at the KGH, three people were confirmed positive for the virus — two patients and one staff member. Sadly, one person has died as a result of their illness

“I would like to thank the team at KGH for their efforts in containing this outbreak,” said Interior Health president and CEO Susan Brown. “The best thing we can do to protect ourselves and our community against COVID-19 is to get vaccinated. If you haven’t received your first dose yet, I encourage you to visit one of our clinics today.”

IH wants to remind the public to remain vigilant in following local health guidelines by staying home if you’re sick, wearing a mask when necessary, and registering to receive the vaccine. For more information on where you can get vaccinated, click here.
