Shine a light on brain Injury

June is Brain Injury Awareness Month across Canada. More than 160,000 British Columbians and 1.5 million Canadians live with the effects of an acquired brain injury daily.

BrainTrust Canada is the only charity serving the North and Central Okanagan dedicated to supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries. Their mission is to bring the issue of brain injury to the forefront, reduce preventable brain injuries, and maximize the potential of those who have been affected by brain injury through programs and advocacy.

“We are dedicated to supporting our clients on the road to recovery and rehabilitation and educating our community about the importance of brain injury and concussion prevention,” said BrainTrust Canada CEO, Mia Burgess.

“For the month of June, we invite the community to follow along with us to learn more about how you can prevent brain injury and support our community members living with brain injury.”

The Sails downtown Kelowna will be lit up blue from June 12 to 18 in honour of the month.
