Reel One Entertainment filming movie at historical Lindon House

Lindon House movie shoot

Another movie shoot has been spotted in Kelowna and this time, it’s at the historical Lindon House on Ethel Street.

If you catch yourself walking by the Lindon House, you might notice snow on the ground and Christmas lights throughout the property.

Reel One Entertainment is currently filming Falling for Christmas, which tells the story of a party planner who must put on the holiday party of the year, in order to save his company.

“The Lindon House is a heritage house. We decked it out full of Christmas inside and out, and it looked beautiful. The neighbourhood was also very supportive,” says producer Costa Vassos.

In order to get the house looking like a winter wonderland, Reel One had to bring snow in from Big White using trucks.

Falling for Christmas is the 12th Reel One film to be shot in the Okanagan, since the beginning of 2020. Filming for the flick wraps up on March 9 and Reel One Entertainment is set to begin preparing for the next film on Monday.

“Kelowna is a great place to film — fantastic locations, there is amazing support from the community, the city and the Okanagan film commissioner, Jon Summerland,” explains Vassos.

And, according to the Okanagan Film Commission (OFC), the pandemic has allowed the local film industry to explode, making it a hot spot for producers from Hollywood.

The OFC served 104 location requests in the Okanagan in 2020 with 25 productions being filmed here.
