City fixes conflicting downtown street signs on Pandosy

Conflicting street signs

Drivers passing through the intersection of Pandosy Street and Leon Avenue can be forgiven this week if they took a wrong turn.

No-turning signs for those heading north on Pandosy offered conflicting instructions on the turn onto one-way Leon Avenue.

“The traffic people had trouble figuring out what happened,” said City of Kelowna spokesperson Tom Wilson on Friday. “But they figured it out.”

Someone forcibly spun the no right-turn sign attached to the stop sign 180 degrees, resulting in it facing the wrong direction of traffic.

A confused pedestrian contacted Castanet about the sign on Thursday morning, Wilson said city crews were out fixing it on Friday.
