Interior Health says a second person has died as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak at Kelowna General Hospital.
IH chief medical health officer Dr. Albert de Villiers confirmed the death Thursday afternoon, however, he didn't provide any more details.
The outbreak was first declared at the hospital Feb. 22.
Since then, seven cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed, including six patients and one staff member.
The outbreak has been contained to the 4B unit at the hospital.
A man in his late 70s passed away last week from the virus.
