Warm weather forces early closure of Stuart Park rink

Stuart Park rink closes

The ice rink in Kelowna’s Stuart Park has now closed for the season.

Originally slated to stay open until the end of the month, the city says they were forced to shut it down early due to warm weather.

“Warm temperatures throughout this final week of skating have resulted in the need to close the rink early as the ice surface can not be maintained at a safe level,” said the city online.

Those who have booked times to skate this weekend will be contacted directly via email.

The rink opened on January 11 after several delays due to the pandemic.
