Break-in, stabbing in Ellison

A Kelowna man is in custody after he allegedly broke into a home in Ellison before stabbing a man on Sunday.

Kelowna RCMP were called to the home in the 3000-block of Saratoga Road just after 2 p.m. The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries and the alleged attacker was arrested.

Several RCMP investigators remained on scene for hours after the event took place, gathering evidence and interviewing people.

Castanet spoke with one officer who said a man had been arrested for assault with a weapon and the victim was transported to Kelowna General Hospital and required stitches.

“The 42-year-old Kelowna man has been held in custody and will be brought before the court. The full findings of the investigation will be submitted to the BC Prosecution Service for review,” reads a statement from Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy with the Kelowna RCMP.
