The Kelowna Fire Department dealt with an early morning fire at a commercial building in downtown after a trash bin fire spread to a nearby business.
Fire crews responded just before 4 Sunday morning, to a report of a garbage bin on fire with exposure to a structure in the 1500-block of Pandosy Street.
First arriving crews found a fire in an alley, they tried to quickly extinguish the fire but unfortunately, it had extended into the Simply Computing building.
KFD gained entry to the shop and quickly extinguished the interior fire as well.
There were no occupants in the business at the time of the incident. There was minor damage to the structure and contents.
The fire is suspicious in nature and will be investigated by RCMP and the Kelowna Fire Department.
Three Engines, one rescue unit, one ladder truck, a command unit, a safety unit, RCMP and FortisBC including 16 fire personnel responded to the incident.
