Elementary school COVID

A case of COVID-19 has been found at Rutland Elementary School.

Interior Health confirmed the COVID infection at the school Thursday (Jan. 21).

“They are self-isolating at home with support from local public health teams. Interior Health follows up with anyone potentially exposed to a confirmed case directly through contact tracing,” said a statement from the school district. “The safety and well-being of students, families and staff remains our highest priority.”

The notice did not say if a staff member or student was confirmed to have the virus.

“Central Okanagan Public Schools will continue to work closely with Interior Health to determine if any additional actions are required, and to support ongoing communication to the affected school communities.”
