The University of British Columbia Okanagan campus is hosting an online event to discuss the future of their newest development at 550 Doyle Avenue in Downtown Kelowna.
The virtual open house is open to the public over Zoom where plans for academic programs and research activities will be highlighted on Jan. 19 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Preliminary design work is underway and construction is expected to start mid 2022.
"The UBC building will provide about 80,000 sq. ft. for academic and research uses as well as additional shared-use areas, office, residential and some amenity spaces," says the school.
The community will benefit from an atrium open to the public, a public engagement learning suite for community programs, meetings and workshops. A creative innovation space and a gallery capable of welcoming artwork from around the world to the Okanagan.
