Police seek suspect after woman grabbed by stranger

Woman grabbed by stranger

The Kelowna RCMP is distributing surveillance footage of a man accused of a stranger assault in Rutland last year.

A woman walking in the area of Dodd and Bach roads on Nov. 28, 2020, just before 5:30 p.m., was grabbed by an unknown male “in an inappropriate manner.” The suspect then fled on foot.

The assault occurred in the presence of two other people that the woman was walking with. The man was last seen in the area of Hemlock Road.

The suspect is described as:

  • Caucasian male
  • approximately six-feet tall
  • thin build
  • He was last seen wearing:
  • black non medical face mask
  • grey jacket with the hood up
  • blue jeans

“We are releasing this video in the hopes that someone will recognise this man and come forward,” says Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy of the Kelowna RCMP. “The victim was uninjured in this unprovoked assault, but was extremely shaken. If you know who this might be, we are asking that you contact investigators immediately.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
