'Made by Hand' Lake Country Art Gallery exhibition now on

New exhibit at art gallery

Calling all art enthusiasts! The Lake Country Art Gallery has a new exhibition, Made by Hand, showcasing artisan pieces.

This year's, the members’ exhibition will have diverse art practices including printmaking, clay, textiles, woodwork, mixed media and basket making.

The show is to debate the differences between artists and artisan.

"Artisan is defined only as someone who makes things with his or her hands," writes Wanda Lock, media coordinator for the Lake Country Art Gallery.

"Therefore, by that definition, pretty much all artists are artisans. However, not all artisans are artists,"

Lock says as there is no clear line between both, Made by Hand gives residents a look into the world of art that is skillfully created by hand.

The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
