Thief steals over $4,000 worth of tools from Kelowna home

$4K in tools stolen

Over $4,000 worth of tools were stolen from a Kelowna resident Sunday night.

11 tools, nine batteries and two chargers were stolen from the central Kelowna home some time between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. Sunday night.

"They came right into the shop and stole about $4,500 worth of stuff," says Logan Noel. "I must have forgotten to lock up because there was no sign of forced entry, but now I've bought more locks to keep everything secure and I'm double checking them."

Noel uses the tools to work on cars in his hobby shop, and they are all Milwaukee brand. It's unclear whether this theft was targeted or a crime of opportunity.

"We have contacted the police about it," he says. "We also told local pawn shop owners to keep an eye out for any tools that might fit the description."

If you have any information relating to this theft, you can contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
