2 Okanagan radio stations rebrand as part of national move

Radio stations rebrand

A pair of Okanagan radio stations hit the airwaves with new branding Sunday morning, part of a media giant’s move to bring 10 radio stations across Canada under one name.

CILK 101.5 EZ Rock Kelowna and CJMG 97.1 Sun FM Penticton are both now broadcasting as “Move Radio.”

Parent company Bell Media switched 10 stations across Canada, including Vancouver’s iconic QMFM, to Move Radio on Sunday. The stations bill themselves as the “perfect blend of your favourite music, with hits from today and a few blasts from the past.”

Sun FM topped the Penticton radio ratings amongst non-CBC stations in Dec. 2019, while Kelowna’s EZ Rock was middle of the pack during the last ratings period in May.

The stations impacted by the changes across Canada are:

CILK 101.5 Kelowna, BC (ex-EZ ROCK)

CJMG 97.1 Penticton, BC  (ex-SUN FM)

CHQM 103.5 Vancouver, BC (ex-QMFM)

CIBX 106.9 Fredericton, NB  (ex-CAPITAL FM)

CIOO 100.1 Halifax, NS  (ex-C100)

CFJR 104.9 Brockville, ON (ex-JR FM)

CFLY 98.3 Kingston, ON  (ex-FLY FM)

CJMJ 100.3 Ottawa, ON (ex-MAJIC 100)

CKPT 99.7 Peterborough, ON  (ex-ENERGY 99.7)

CHRE 105.7 St. Catherines, ON  (ex-EZ Rock)
