COVID-19 inspired Scavenger Hunt event scheduled for August 22

Ready for a scavenger hunt?

The Great Kelowna Scavenger Hunt is coming to town on Saturday, August 22, with a mission to support some of the many businesses impacted by COVID-19.

On event day, participants will receive an email at 11:00 a.m. with the first round of clues for downtown Kelowna area prize locations. Additional clues will be released to players as the day continues.

The event is hosted by Elevation Outdoors and the BC Wine, Cider and Spirits Festival in partnership with Urban Elegance Homes.

You can enter to participate as an individual for a minimum $20 donation to the event, and teams of up to six people can participate for $40.

Funds will be raised for Elevation Outdoors and the Rotary Club of Kelowna Morningside

Organizers are committed to giving away 30 per cent of all funds raised in the form of purchased gift cards from as many locally owned and operated businesses as possible, to be used as prizes.

Participants will be given the opportunity to suggest which locally owned and operated business they would like to see supported when registering online.

“This first annual Covid-19 inspired event will offer a safe alternative to some of the great Okanagan summer events” says Mike Greer, executive director of Elevation Outdoors.

Organizers are committed to hosting the event within COVID-19 regulations. Each indoor scavenger hunt location will be managed by a team member, and allow no more than six people inside at a time. Safe social distancing practices will be followed and sanitizer will be available.

More than $4,000 has already been raised.

Tickets can be booked online
