The Okanagan's Wibit water parks have reopened

Wibit water parks now open

The Okanagan's popular Wibit water parks have reopened with new safety protocols in place amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"In regards to our opening dates, we had to wait for B.C. regulations to say 'okay we're starting Phase 3 so you guys are able to operate now,' but we're definitely adapting in order to keep the business running and keeping everyone safe," says manager of the Kelowna Wibit Emina Arima.

The Wibit water parks are now operating at a reduced capacity with online payments encouraged to reduce contact between customers and staff. Customers must use hand sanitizer before signing wavers and when it is busy, lineup placements will be visible to remind people to social distance while waiting to go on the Wibit.

"We are going to implement one-way traffic so our lifeguards will be there to guide and assist everyone whose coming on," says Arima. "As well as we're going to have a lifeguard sanitizing our park at times so it will be constantly clean. We're also sanitizing our life jackets after they're in use."

Wibit water parks in Kelowna, Osoyoos, Peachland and Penticton are now open for the summer from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., weather permitting.
