Huge show of support at funeral procession for Gaige Banman

Show of support for Gaige

There was a huge turnout of support from Kelowna residents who attended the funeral procession of Gaige Banman on Sunday afternoon.

People can be seen lining the streets for the funeral procession which made multiple passes down McCurdy Road at 3:30 p.m. in support of the Banman family, who lost their son after he was run over by a vehicle on April 19 at the family home.

Attendees were asked to keep six feet apart from one another and respect social distancing protocol in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gaige's father Mark Banman also asked the community to release bubbles as the procession passed, saying his son loved bubbles.

The family placed a box of bubbles in their driveway for those who didn't have any.

More than $19,000 has been raised via a GoFundMe page set up to support the family during this time.
