Kelowna will Take Strides to End Homelessness on Sunday.
The annual event brings in money to support the Gospel Mission with family-friendly two and five-kilometre walks and a 10-kilometre run.
The goal of the walk is to raise $55,000 to support the organization’s shelter program, meals, outreach, casework and a women’s transitional home, Harmony House.
Close to $35,000 has been raised already with the top fundraiser, Paul Cluff of Re/Max, contributing $10,000.
For over 40 years, Kelowna’s Gospel Mission has helped people who are struggling to meet basic needs in the community.
The walk leaves the Laurel Packinghouse on March 1 at 3 p.m. Registration starts at 2 p.m.
