Help send children with diverse abilities to Camp Winfield

Get moving for Easter Seals

Do you want to help make a difference in the life of someone living with a diverse ability?

For the month of March, the Easter Seals wants you to help send children and adults to Camp Winfield by swimming, walking, running or biking.

Funds raised through whatever exercise you choose will help send kids to the annual summer camp held in Lake Country.

“Donations will help offset the $3,600 it costs to support one child at camp each week,” said Emma Liffen, director of development at Easter Seals BC/Yukon.

“A week at camp is life changing. From overnight campouts, sports, games, and arts, to onsite medical support and tailored health meal programs, each camper is recognized for their abilities and gain confidence, communications skills, and friendships that last a lifetime.”

Pledges are raised for every kilometre you move and registration is free. To participate, you can go solo or create a team. If you raise a minimum of $300, you will be entered in a draw to win one of eight prize packages, including a wine tour or a two-night stay at Kelowna's Prestige Beach House.

“As a charity, we rely on the generosity of the community to support our programs. Any donation, big or small, helps us raise the much needed funds to deliver this magical experience at camp,” says Liffen.
