Traffic on Highway 97 appears to be flowing smoothly once again near the Kelowna International Airport after a crash slowed traffic earlier in the afternoon.

A trailer appears to have blown a tire on Highway 97 near Kelowna International Airport Thursday afternoon, causing a crash and slowing traffic.
The crash occurred sometime around 2 p.m. as the truck and trailer drove northbound. The vehicle crashed into the centre median, knocking several pieces into the southbound lanes.
“It looked like what happened was, he was driving a truck with a trailer, and the trailer's back wheels blew out, and I think hit the barrier, pushing it over to the other side,” said witness Ariane Hohmann, who drove by the area.
Police are on scene, and traffic has been backed up in both directions.
