Black Mountain Irrigation District customers should conserve water

Request to conserve water

Residents within the Black Mountain Irrigation District are being asked to conserve water for the next two to three weeks while upgrades take place.

The tunnel from Mission Creek that supplies the water system is being upgraded to improve flow capacity and pressures to the north part of the district.

“As a result, for the next two to three weeks, the district is being supplied with water from Rutland Water Works,” the district said, explaining it will be pumped uphill from Rutland flats.

While there may be “minor water quality variations,” there is no change in the safety of the water provided.

“We request that all customers conserve water and use only what you absolutely need for indoor household activities during this period,” the irrigation district said.
