Limited spaces left at YMCA Okanagan spring break camps for kids

Spring break camps for kids

If you're looking for something for your kids to do this spring break, YMCA Okanagan is offering a variety of spring break camps for kids aged three to 14.

The camps offer exploration, imaginative play, swimming and more for younger children. Older kids have the opportunity to engage in sports, games, out trips, pool time and adventures.

Kelowna Family YMCA child and youth manager Tina Bennett says the camps teach children the value of exercise, as well as other important life skills.

“Camps have many benefits for children besides the obvious goal of having fun and being active. YMCA camps are designed to be engaging, relevant and educational. Staff are trained to incorporate meaningful activities to help kids learn critical social skills — including how to compromise, problem solve, self-regulate and negotiate. As well, they create an inclusive environment where all children can gain independence, develop self-esteem, and build lasting relationships."

There are full and half-day options, running from Mar. 16-20 and Mar. 23-27 at three locations around Kelowna. Financial assistance is available for families who qualify for extra help.

Spaces are limited. Visit the YMCA Okanagan website to find out more, or call 250-491-9622 to register.
